A cobalt blue mosaic base carries Solstice, topped with a thin, cast porcelain shade ribbed like corrugated cardboard, and finished throughout in brass. The base is pieced together from mosaic shards, offcuts left over from Milly's signature tableware collection, broken down and set into the stoneware body before being grouted in grey. Above it, the porcelain shade is cast thin for translucency, its ribbed surface splitting the light into soft, repeating patterns that fall across the wall and nearby surfaces.
Set on a console or bedside table, Solstice works as a piece to look at with the light off as much as on, its colour and pattern suited to spaces that lean into contrast and detail rather than staying neutral.
