The Recessed Slot Step Light sits almost flush with the wall, leaving only a slim rectangular faceplate with one rounded slot cut through its centre. The LED is set back behind the opening, so the source stays out of sight and light falls in a soft fan across the stair tread or floor below rather than into the eye. Switched off, it is a plain plate that recedes into the wall around it.
The body is powder coated aluminium, and spring clips hold it firmly in its wall cut-out with no visible screws. Set low on a wall, a run of these marks the edges of internal stairs, landings and long hallways, and a single fitting makes a gentle night guide beside a bed or along the aisle of a home theatre, where an overhead light would be too much. It suits pared-back interiors in which the lighting is meant to sit quietly within the architecture.
