What is Traditional Style?

Traditional Style

Traditional style is truly timeless, It takes cues from the 18th and 19th centuries incorporating classic art pieces, antiques, and time period influenced furniture. Traditional styling has a sense of regal elegance which incorporates natural metals and materials with old world European connotations.

Consistency is key, as traditional design seeks to create a calm and orderly space with matching furnishings and a sense of symmetry so that everything has its place as intended.

Furniture is heavy and ornate with intricate detailing. You will often see pieces such as clawfoot tubs, tufted upholstery, and carved wood. Windows will always be dressed, and lounges adorned with cushions and throws.

Traditional design comes a sense of comfort, familiarity, and accessibility. This style has a homely essence to it and a warmth that will forever see only growth in its popularity.

Colour pallets of Traditional design are typically neutral with dark warm accent tones throughout the space. Think red, brown, green, and plenty of dark wood.

Art, textiles, and decor accents help give a Traditional space its character. You won't find blinds or bare window coverings in traditional homes. Drapery and valances are classic, usually with heavy curtains. Upholstery, whether for curtains, pillows, or furniture, tend to be of high-end fabrics like silk, velvet, and leather, and bold patterns.

We have created a Traditional style collection that encompasses a carefully curated selection of fittings that exude the characteristics of traditional and time period designs. Highlighting decorative fittings which feature a mix of classical shapes, crystal, glass, metal framing and delicate fabric shades and scale, this collection captures the timeless elegance of traditional designs to evoke quintessential character to complement any traditional inspired space.
