The Whirl Ceramic Wall Sconce introduces raw texture and warm illumination to modern interior spaces. Hand-cast in ceramic in Sydney, this sculptural fitting originates from an authentic wheel-thrown vessel. Subtle throwing lines remain visible across the body, shaping how light moves across surrounding walls. High firing renders the raw ceramic surface semi-translucent, diffusing illumination into a soft, even glow. This upward light wash introduces elemental texture, depth, and ambience to living areas.
This wall fitting brings warm, indirect light into entryways, dining areas, and bedrooms. Mounted alone, its wheel-thrown form stands as a striking, organic piece or group to create a statement look. The sculptural profile settles easily into organic, and minimalist interiors. With the IP54 integrated LED option, it's also suited to bathrooms and protected outdoor areas.
Please Note: Due to the artisanal, handmade nature of this fitting, natural variations in size, form, colour, pattern and texture may occur. We do not consider these to be defects, but rather a celebration of the unique character and natural beauty of each individual piece. If you require a matching pair, please contact us prior to purchase so we can assist in matching your products.

Milly Dent Studio makes handcrafted wall sconces rooted in the textures and forms of the Sydney coastline. Each piece begins with close observation of the natural world — coral structures seen under a microscope, the surface of a sea urchin shell — translated into sculptural porcelain forms that function as both lighting and art.
The studio spotlight covers:
The work is considered and unhurried. Every piece is made to be lived with, not stored away. It's a compelling example of Australian design at its most thoughtful.
